Hello and welcome to my newsletter! Thank you so much for signing up. In these uncertain times of social media, what with algorithms and artificial intelligence, I wanted a back-up plan in case I ever choose to abandon my Instagram account. I’m glad you hopped aboard, it means you care about my art. And that means the world to me! I appreciate you, and humbly ask you to bear with me as I figure this newsletter thing out.

I’d like to announce a 25% off sale in my Etsy shop, running today through Sunday 7/28/24, on everything in my shop other than postcards and discount items! I’ve been making a bunch of new minizines these past few weeks, and am excited about getting them out there into readers’ hands. As always, my creative motivation waxes and wanes, and after I finished my 28 page Frasier fanzine in March, I was indeed a bit burnt out and in need of a rest.

If you missed it, My Frasier Fanzine was featured in an art show in Los Angeles called Tossed Pallettes & Scrambled JPEGs. I was incredibly honored, not to mention, PUMPed to have my little homage to my favorite 90s comfort show included next to many talented artists, whose work I wished I could buy all up! That Daphne doing laundry quilt? Amazing!

Of course, eventually the zine bug bit me again, and I recently published …And Out Come The Woodchucks, Mushrooms I Have Known Vol. 2, Why Birding #3, and Ode To Cymbalta. If you’ve followed me from the beginning, you know I started out as a collage artist. But this past year and a half, I consider myself mainly a zine maker! Of course, I collage a great deal of my zines, and they are almost all done the old fashioned, analog way (not digitally). But for the time being I’m focusing mainly on how liberating it feels to share my thoughts, my experiences, my words, and my voice without having to ask for anybody’s permission. What is it that you love about zines, or collage, for that matter? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Here’s where I’ll be tabling my art next. Stay safe, friends.

Love,

Kris (she/they)

PS: If you’ve got a friend you think would be into my art, I’d love for you to forward this letter to them, or share my IG with ‘em!
